I stopped by Cognition Cyclery this past week to have a look at the store and I had a chance to talk with Taylor Kopt, the store manager.
Taylor is a very enthusiastic manager - both for the store and for the bikes he sells. I asked him to describe his store. Here's his response:
"Cognition Cyclery has brought a totally new bicycle retail experience to the Bay Area. From our inviting easy to navigate layout, to our highly trained staff, Cognition is something to experience. We focus on key products and brands that stand out from the rest, insuring that clutter is kept to a minimum, and that our customers are receiving the best possible products for their needs."
Now you could say to yourself, okay, he's just saying these things, but, he speaks from experience: the staff at Cognition have all worked at other bicycle retail stores and all share something similar. They want to provide cyclists with a better store. For them, this means having a store you can walk around in, can ask specific questions (like, which shoe is really the best for my set up) and get real answers based on experience and knowledge, and when you leave, you feel like you were just talking with some friends who had your back and wanted the best for you.
I asked Taylor what riders should be looking for and he said their sale: all 2011 stock is on sale to make room for 2012 stock. Stop on by. Check it out for yourself.
